Thamud denied the messengers 141 Their brother Salih asked them, "Why do you not fear God? 142 Truly, I am a trustworthy messenger for you, 143 so fear God and obey me. 144 'I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 145 Will you be left secure in what is here; 146 In gardens and springs. 147 and fields, and [these] palm-trees with slender spathes? 148 And hew ye out houses in the mountains skilfully! 149 So fear God and obey me: 150 and pay no heed to the counsel of those who are given to excesses 151 who do corruption in the earth, and set not things aright.' 152 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 153 Thou art but a human being like unto us. So bring thou a sign if thou art of the truth-tellers. 154 He said, 'This is a she-camel; to her a draught and to you a draught, on a day appointed, 155 "And touch her not with harm, lest the torment of a Great Day seize you." 156 So they hamstrung her, and in the morning could only regret. 157 And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 158 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 159

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
