[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
