The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
