The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
