The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
