[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
