[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
