The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
