The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
