The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
