The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
