The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
