The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
