The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
