The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
