The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
