The men of the Thicket cried lies to the Envoys 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
