The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, do not be among the cheats, 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful. 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
