The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He. said: My Lord is the Best Knower of that which ye work. 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
