The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due). 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful. 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
