The men of the Thicket cried lies to the Envoys 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 Shuayb said: "My Lord knows well all what you do." 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
