The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 Fear He who created you, and the generations of the ancient' 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
