The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
