The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due). 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
