The dwellers of the forest also rejected the messengers. 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due). 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 Have fear of the One who has created you and the generations that lived before you." 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
