The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 weigh with an even balance 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He. said: My Lord is the Best Knower of that which ye work. 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
