And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
