Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
