And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 of what avail would their past enjoyment be to them? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
