This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
