Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 and then they will say: 'Shall we be respited' 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
