And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
