Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 Warn your close relatives 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 And how they say that which they do not? 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
