The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. These are revelations of the Qur'an and a Scripture that maketh plain; 1 a guidance and good tidings for the believers 2 who pray regularly and pay obligatory alms and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 3 We have made those who do not believe in the Hereafter feel their actions appear good to them, so they wander blindly: 4 It is they for whom is the worst punishment, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. 5 Lo! as for thee (Muhammad), thou verily receivest the Qur'an from the presence of One Wise, Aware. 6 When Moses said to his household: 'Indeed, I can see a fire far away. I will go and bring you news of it or I will bring you a lighted flame so that you can warm yourselves' 7 But when he came to it, he was called: "Blessed is whosoever is in the fire, and whosoever is round about it! And glorified be Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 8 “O Moosa, I am indeed, in truth, Allah the Almighty, the Wise.” 9 "Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving (of its own accord) as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not: truly, in My presence, those called as messengers have no fear,- 10 "Except him who has done wrong and afterwards has changed evil for good, then surely, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 11 And put thy hand into the bosom of thy robe, it will come forth white but unhurt. (This will be one) among nine tokens unto Pharaoh and his people Lo! they were ever evil-living folk. 12 But when Our signs came to them in all their clarity they said, "This is clearly sorcery!" 13 They rejected the evidence because of their arrogance and injustice, although their souls knew it to be true. Think how terrible the end of the sinful ones was! 14
