The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 Do people think that they will be let go merely by saying: “We believe,” and that they will not be tested, 2 Lo! We tested those who were before you. Thus Allah knoweth those who are sincere, and knoweth those who feign. 3 Or do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun Us? Evil is what they judge. 4 Whoever hopes to meet Allah, the term appointed by Allah will then most surely come; and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 5 And whoever strives, strives only for himself, God is independent of all His creation, 6 Those who believe [in the Oneness of Allah (Monotheism) and in Messenger Muhammad SAW, and do not apostate because of the harm they receive from the polytheists], and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall remit from them their evil deeds and shall reward them according to the best of that which they used to do. 7 And We have enjoined on man to be good and dutiful to his parents, but if they strive to make you join with Me (in worship) anything (as a partner) of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return, and I shall tell you what you used to do. 8 And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will most surely cause them to enter among the good. 9 Some profess to believe in God, but when they suffer for God's cause they mistake the persecution of man for the punishment of God. But when help comes to you from God, they will say, "We have always been with you." Is not God fully aware of what is in the hearts of all creatures? 10 Verily Allah knoweth those who believe, and verily He knoweth the hypocrites. 11 And those who disbelieve say to those who believe: "Follow our way and we will verily bear your sins," never will they bear anything of their sins. Surely, they are liars. 12 They will carry their own loads and other loads besides their own; and will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about what they contrived. 13
