The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ A. L. M. 1 Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? 2 Yea, indeed, We did test those who lived before them; and so, [too, shall be tested the people now living: and] most certainly will God mark out those who prove themselves true, and most certainly will He mark out those who are lying. 3 Or do they who commit evil deeds imagine that they can escape from Us? What an evil judgement they impose! 4 Whoever expects to meet Allah – then indeed the time appointed by Allah will come; and He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 5 Whoever strives hard should know that it is for his own good. God is independent of the whole world. 6 We shall pardon the sinful deeds of those who believe and do the right, and give them a reward better than their deeds. 7 And We have enjoined upon man goodness to parents. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do. 8 But as for those who have attained to faith and have done righteous deeds, We shall most certainly cause them to join the righteous [in the hereafter as well]. 9 And among men is he who says: We believe in Allah; but when he is persecuted in (the way of) Allah he thinks the persecution of men to be as the chastisement of Allah; and if there come assistance from your Lord, they would most certainly say: Surely we were with you. What! is not Allah the best knower of what is in the breasts of mankind. 10 And indeed Allah will make known the believers, and indeed He will expose the hypocrites. 11 Those who deny say to those who affirm: "Follow our way; we shall carry the burden of your sins." But they cannot carry the burden of their sins in the least. They are liars indeed. 12 And they will surely bear their own burdens and some other burdens along with their own; and they will undoubtedly be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning what they had fabricated. 13
