We sent Noah to his people and he lived with them for nine hundred and fifty years, then the flood engulfed them for their injustice. 14 But We saved him and the companions of the ship, and We made it a sign for the worlds. 15 And (remember) Abraham who said to his people: "Worship God and be obedient to Him. This is better for you if you understand. 16 "For ye do worship idols besides Allah, and ye invent falsehood. The things that ye worship besides Allah have no power to give you sustenance: then seek ye sustenance from Allah, serve Him, and be grateful to Him: to Him will be your return. 17 "And if ye reject (the Message), so did generations before you: and the duty of the messenger is only to preach publicly (and clearly)." 18 Do they not see how God originates creation, then reproduces it? That surely is easy for God. 19 Say, [O Muhammad], "Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allah will produce the final creation. Indeed Allah, over all things, is competent." 20 He punishes whomever He wills and has mercy upon whomever He wills; and towards Him only you are to return. 21 You cannot challenge God in the heavens or in the earth. No one besides God is your guardian or helper. 22
