Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Alif-Lam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom. 2 A guidance and a mercy for the good, 3 Those who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate and of the Hereafter are convinced. 4 Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful. 5 (In an attempt to show that God's revelations are only ancient legends) some people pay for meaningless tales to draw others attention away from the Quran without knowledge and treat as a matter of fun. They will suffer a humiliating torment. 6 When Our verses are recited to him, he turns his back in pride, as though he never heard them, and in his ears was heaviness. Give glad tidings to him of a painful punishment! 7 Verily, those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens of delight (Paradise). 8 to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. 9 He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. 10 This is the creation of Allah. So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error. 11
