Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 These are revelations of the wise Scripture, 2 And a guidance and grace for those who do good, 3 who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 Those are guided by their Lord and will surely prosper. 5 (In an attempt to show that God's revelations are only ancient legends) some people pay for meaningless tales to draw others attention away from the Quran without knowledge and treat as a matter of fun. They will suffer a humiliating torment. 6 Whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a person, he turns away in his arrogance, as though he had not heard them -- as though his ears were sealed: give him, then, the tidings of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure. 8 therein to dwell forever -- God's promise in truth; and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 Such is the creation of Allah; now show me what, other than Him, created! No, the harmdoers are in clear error. 11
