Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom, 2 providing guidance and grace unto the doers of good 3 Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith]. 4 These are on a guidance from their Lord, and these are they who are successful: 5 And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom. 6 Whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a person, he turns away in his arrogance, as though he had not heard them -- as though his ears were sealed: give him, then, the tidings of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 Therein they will be abiders: a true promise of Allah. And He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
