Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
A. L. M. 1 This Book has beyond all doubt been revealed by the Lord of the Universe. 2 Do they say, "He has invented it himself."? No indeed! It is the truth from your Lord to warn a people to whom, before you, no warner came, so that hopefully they may be rightly guided. 3 It is God who created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, in six spans, then assumed all authority. You have no protector other than Him, nor any intercessor. Will you not be warned even then? 4 He disposeth every affair from the heaven unto the earth; thereafter it shall ascend unto Him in a Day the measure whereof is one thousand years of that which ye compute. 5 That is the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 6 Who made all things good which He created, and He began the creation of man from clay; 7 Then He made his posterity out of the extract of a liquid disdained. 8 then He duly proportioned him, and breathed into him of His spirit, and bestowed upon you ears and eyes and hearts. And yet, little thanks do you give. 9 And they say: When we are lost in the earth, how can we then be re-created? Nay but they are disbelievers in the meeting with their Lord. 10 ۞ Say, "The Angel of Death who has been given charge of you will gather in your souls. Then you will [all] be returned to your Lord." 11
