O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and wives of the believers that they should draw over themselves some of their outer garments [when in public], so as to be recognized and not harmed. God is most forgiving and most merciful. 59 ۞ THUS IT IS: if the hypocrites, and they in whose hearts is disease, and they who, by spreading false rumours, would cause disturbances in the City [of the Prophet] desist not [from their hostile doings]; We shall indeed give thee mastery over them, [O Muhammad] - and then they will not remain thy neighbours in this [city] for more than a little while: 60 They shall have a curse on them: whenever they are found, they shall be seized and slain (without mercy). 61 (Such was) the practice (approved) of Allah among those who lived aforetime: No change wilt thou find in the practice (approved) of Allah. 62 People ask thee ccncerning the Hour. Say thou: the knowledge thereof is only with Allah: and what knowest thou! belike the Hour is nigh. 63 God has rejected those who deny the truth and prepared for them a blazing Fire. 64 Wherein they will abide for ever. They will find (then) no protecting friend nor helper. 65 Upon the day when their faces are turned about in the Fire they shall say, 'Ah, would we had obeyed God and the Messenger! 66 And they say: Our Lord! Lo! we obeyed our princes and great men, and they misled us from the Way. 67 Our Lord, give them double punishment and curse them with a mighty curse." 68
