۞ Proclaim, “I advise you just one thing; that stand up for Allah's sake, in twos and ones, and then think”; there is not a trace of insanity in this companion of yours; he is not but a Herald of Warning for you, before the advent of a severe punishment! 46 Say thou: whatsoever hire I might have asked of you is yours; my hire is with Allah only. And He is of everything a Witness. 47 Say: "Verily my Lord doth cast the (mantle of) Truth (over His servants),- He that has full knowledge of (all) that is hidden." 48 Say: "The truth has come, and falsehood had neither precedence nor will reappear." 49 Say: “If I go astray then the hurt of straying will come only upon me. But if I am rightly-guided, that is only because of the revelation that my Lord makes to me. He is All-Hearing, Ever Nigh.” 50 If thou couldst but see when they will quake with terror; but then there will be no escape (for them), and they will be seized from a position (quite) near. 51 And they will say, "We do believe (now) in the (Truth)"; but how could they receive (Faith) from a position (so far off,- 52 seeing that aforetime they had been bent on denying the truth, and had been wont to cast scorn, from far away, on something that was beyond the reach of human perception! 53 And a gulf is set between them and that which they desire, as was done for people of their kind of old. Lo! they were in hopeless doubt. 54
