In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ya Sin. 1 I call to witness the Qur'an, custodian of all laws, -- 2 that you (Muhammad) are a Messenger 3 On a path that is straight, -- 4 (The Qur’an is) Sent down by the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 5 so that you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned and so they are unaware. 6 Assuredly the word hath been justified against most of them, wherefore they shall not believe. 7 We have bound their necks with fetters up to their chin, so that their heads are raised and cannot be lowered. 8 And We have put a bar in front of them and a bar behind them, and further, We have covered them up; so that they cannot see. 9 It is the same to them whether you warn them or you warn them not, they will not believe. 10 You should only warn those who follow the Quran and have fear of the Beneficent God without seeing Him. Give them the glad news of their receiving forgiveness and an honorable reward (from God). 11 Surely, it is We who revive the dead and write down what they have forwarded and what they have left behind; We have counted everything in a Clear Book. 12

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
