In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ya Sin. 1 By the wise Qur'an. 2 that you (Muhammad) are a Messenger 3 pursuing a straight way 4 This is a revelation of the Mighty, the Merciful. 5 so that you may warn a people whose ancestors were not warned before wherefore they are heedless. 6 The sentence is surely justified against most of them, for they do not believe. 7 We have bound their necks with fetters up to their chin, so that their heads are raised and cannot be lowered. 8 And We have set a wall before them and a wall behind them, and covered the top – so they are unable to see anything. 9 It makes no difference to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they will not believe. 10 You can only warn him who follows the Reminder (the Quran), and fears the Most Beneficent (Allah) unseen. Bear you to such one the glad tidings of forgiveness, and a generous reward (i.e. Paradise). 11 Surely, it is We who revive the dead and write down what they have forwarded and what they have left behind; We have counted everything in a Clear Book. 12

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
