Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ya-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 By oath of the wise Qur’an. 2 you are truly among the Messengers, 3 on a straight path; 4 (The Qur’an is) Sent down by the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 5 That you may warn a people whose ancestors had never been warned, who are therefore heedless. 6 The Word is proved true against the greater part of them: for they do not believe. 7 Lo! We have put on their necks carcans reaching unto the chins, so that they are made stiff-necked. 8 And We have made before them a barrier and a barrier behind them, then We have covered them over so that they do not see. 9 It makes no difference to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they will not believe. 10 Thou only warnest him who follows the Remembrance and who fears the All-merciful in the Unseen; so give him the good tidings of forgiveness and a generous wage. 11 Surely it is We who bring the dead to life and write down what they have forwarded and what they have left behind; everything We have numbered in a clear register. 12
