And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 that they might eat of its fruits. It was not their hands that made them. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 All glory to Him who created pairs of everything that grows from the earth, and out of themselves, and other things they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness. 37 The sun, too, follows its determined course laid down for it by the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 And the moon, We have measured for it mansions (to traverse) till it returns like the old dried curved date stalk. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. 40 And a Sign for them is that We bore their race (through the Flood) in the loaded Ark; 41 and then created for them other vessels like those on which they ride. 42 We could have drowned them if We pleased, and none would have answered their cry for help, nor would they have been saved, 43 But (by) mercy from Us and for enjoyment till a time. 44 And when it is said to them, 'Fear what is before you and what is behind you; haply you will find mercy' -- 45 and whenever a revelation out of their Lord's revelations comes to them, they ignore it. 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 They say, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
