And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful? 35 Purity is to Him Who created all pairs, from what the earth grows, and of themselves, and from the things they do not know. 36 A sign for them is the night. From it We withdraw the day and they are in darkness. 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 And the Moon,- We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk. 39 It behoves not the sun to overtake the moon, neither does the night outstrip the day, each swimming in a sky. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark (of Noah). 41 and created for them similar things to ride. 42 And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved 43 except Our mercy which could enable them to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 44 When it is said to them: "Beware of what is before you and what is past, that you may be treated with kindness;" 45 yet never any sign of the signs of their Lord comes to them, but they are turning away from it. 46 When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error." 47 They say, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 They await but one Shout, which will surprise them while they are disputing. 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
