And a sign for them is the dead land, that We quickened and brought forth from it grain, whereof they eat; 33 and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 so that they might eat of its fruit and the labor of their hands. Will they not give thanks? 35 Exaltations to Him who created pairs of all the things the earth produces and of themselves, and that of which they have no knowledge. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 We have ordained phases for the moon until finally it becomes like an old date-stalk. 39 It behoves not the sun to overtake the moon, neither does the night outstrip the day, each swimming in a sky. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride. 42 And if We please, We can drown them, then there shall be no succorer for them, nor shall they be rescued 43 Unless by mercy from Us, and as a comfort for a while. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error." 47 And they say: "When will this promise (i.e. Resurrection) be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 And they will not be able to make a disposition, nor to their family they return. 50
