And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 And We place therein gardens of the date-palms and vines; and We therein cause to gush forth springs. 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Purity is to Him Who created all pairs, from what the earth grows, and of themselves, and from the things they do not know. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 And the sun -- it runs to a fixed resting-place; that is the ordaining of the All-mighty, the All-knowing. 38 And the moon, We have measured for it mansions (to traverse) till it returns like the old dried curved date stalk. 39 Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. 40 And [it ought to be] a sign for them that We bear their offspring [over the seas] in laden ships, 41 And We have created for them similar ships, in which they now ride. 42 and if We will, We drown them, then none have they to cry to, neither are they delivered, 43 save as a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while. 44 When it is said to such people: “Guard yourselves against what is ahead of you and what has preceded you that mercy be shown to you” (they pay scant heed to it). 45 Indeed, not one of your Lord's signs comes to them without their turning away from it, 46 And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error. 47 They say, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 They will not have to wait long. When the Day of Judgment comes, it will only take a single blast of sound to strike them while they are quarrelling with one another. 49 Therefore neither able to make a will, nor returning to their homes. 50
